Be The Good And The Bad Guy In Your Company
It is great to be the good guy in a movie, but it’s not always what is necessary.
A client of mine was complaining the other day that his staff should do their job without him having to play the policeman, but he wasn't right.
Your job as an entrepreneur is to grow the company, yourself and the people around you.
And this forces us to play two roles in front of our team: coach and policeman.
On the one hand, it is necessary to accompany workers as a coach when we are helping them to grow professionally, acquire new skills or improve or develop certain behaviours. You will see this figure reflected in many motivational messages on social networks: you have to accompany the worker.
Other times, however, complicated decisions have to be made, people have to be fired, or a punch on the table has to be done because something has not been done well and has resulted in a severe problem for the client, the company or the team. At that moment, you have to act as a policeman, reprimand and sanction accordingly, to punish the act and prevent it from happening again.
When good vibes flood social networks, it is difficult for an entrepreneur to be a coach and a policeman simultaneously, but you must combine these two roles to grow and grow.
