Winners are the exception, not the rule
Do you know how many winners there are in a tennis match? And how many errors (both forced or unforced)?
I know. In turbulent times, you look for fast and simple solutions that you can apply without risks. Solutions that let you smoothly achieve what your are aiming at, but face it: they don't exist.
Or at least, they are not as common as you expect.
As you know, I love tennis.
Do you know how many winners there are in a tennis match? And how many errors (both forced or unforced)?
In business, like in tennis, winners are a consequence of previous work. In a regular match, you might do one or two aces, and some straight points after a return, but those are exceptions. Don't fool yourself.
The rest of the match is about not failing and making your opponent fail, preparing every point as if you were in a chess game.
So, if you want to win forget about winners, and be reliable. Instead of constantly aiming for a single action that leads you towards a rapid success, prepare your business for the long run. Indeed, think strategically, ensure that don't make unforced technical errors, be effective in your tactics and observe thoroughly looking for ways to improve your game.
